Design

We offer full design services in the areas where we will be placing our cabinets. We specialize in Kitchens, Baths, Entertainment Centers, Bars, Fireplace Mantels and other custom built-ins. Our showroom is equipped with many door styles and we have a variety of wood veneers and laminates to offer.

Kitchen ConceptualThe process of design starts with an introductory period of getting to know the client as well as the space we are designing. We will ask that the client provides plans (if possible) of the space so that we can answer as many questions as possible at the beginning. During this phase we’ll provide pricing and suggest alternatives to tighten the budget.

We will conduct at least one field measure before drawing up the plans, and it can take anywhere from a few days to a week to provide shop drawings. Presentations will be in our showroom on our large TV screen, where we show the space in three dimensions, and can “walk” through the room with our clients to get a much better feel for the proposed space.

Becky Bircher, Designer

Becky grew up in Kansas City and has always been drawn to the fine arts. After being accepted to Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida she majored in Interior Design. During her school years Becky realized that her calling and passion was designing kitchens and baths. She started to notice so much potential with outdated homes and knew she had to be a part of the remodeling industry. Her career began with an internship at a custom cabinet shop in West Palm Beach, and she was hired as a full-time employee soon after. Becky moved to St. Louis in the summer of 2011 and discovered McMillan Cabinetmakers. “I absolutely love my job, what I can do for homeowners, and I care for everyone’s project as if they were my very own.”

David Reed, Designer

David’s love of design started with his first childhood drawings of castles and continued through his Interior Design degree from Maryville University.  David’s work experience in the industry, from hardwood flooring product representative through interior designer, has developed his love for wood and details where he can see all the pieces and parts fit together. David brings his expertise to the McMillan Cabinetmaker’s team where he can take part daily in three things that are important to him: being creative, diving into the nuts and bolts of detail-oriented work, and making people happy.

When he’s not at work, David is building electric guitars, enjoying “Art Night” with his family or firing up the backyard pizza oven.
